Heattechs are okay for the shoulder season (I still prefer to use silks myself, as they are more breathable and less bulky) but the main draw for the Heattechs is that they are easy to wash. Unlike real wool or silk thermals, you don't have to hang them to dry. Because you can toss them in the dryer, they are easy and quick to clean.
